710 SpiritsTM is a compounded solvent (CDA 12A) that is used for the extraction of herbs.

This item is a fully denatured substitute for unadulterated ethanol. It eliminates the $27/gallon Federal Excise Tax while utilizing only the highest grade materials to produce an exceptionally pure, premium quality oil.

710 Spirits is… A solvent for extraction that preserves the quality of ethanol while removing the tax.

Comprised of 95% Food Grade, USP, ACS Grade Ethanol and 4.5% high purity n-Heptane, which is an approved industry standard solvent. Blending it in this manner renders it undrinkable, but it is as simple to remove as unadulterated ethanol. It left no flavour, evaporates completely, and tests clear for residue.

In the extraction process, 710 Spirits can be used anywhere you would use pure ethanol; however, it may be necessary to use pure ethyl alcohol in the final rinsing stages. Extractions utilizing the 710 Spirits blend MUST be processed using commercial apparatus with residual solvent monitoring and testing. Your extraction process MUST heat oil to 98°C in order to eliminate ALL solvent residue in the final product.
