Our boiling stones, boiling chips, and anti-bumping granules are small, irregularly shaped pumice fragments ranging in size from four to six mesh.

Because they provide an irregular surface where vapour bubbles can readily form, boiling stones are excellent for promoting even boiling in the distillation process. These bubbles prevent sloshing and overboiling.

Always heat a solvent with scalding stones. Never introduce them to a hot solvent, as they can cause the solvent to violently boil over. On chilling, the pores within boiling stones become filled with liquid, preventing their reuse.
