PYREX Glass Heavy Wall Filtering Flask, 500mL For Sale
High grade series 5340 PYREX® brand filter flask.
This 500mL PYREX filter flask has sidearm tubulation for convenient attachment to filter pump hoses. Heavy wall with a graded side and a flat bottom. Necks polished to provide a good fit for a #7 rubber stopper.
The filter flask resembles an Erlenmeyer flask with a short arm protruding from it. The “arm” connects the flask to the vacuum source. The vacuum flask will hold less pressure if the top is sealed with a stopper or a Buchner funnel. The thick walls of this flask are designed to endure low pressure without collapsing.
Filter flasks, also known as “side-arm flasks” and “vacuum flasks,” are used to filter solutions or remove solvent under reduced pressure.
