Sodium Chlorate, 500g For Sale
Grade for a lab — A potent oxidant.
Chlorine dioxide, a bleaching agent used in the pulp and paper industry, is frequently produced using sodium chlorate, a white, crystalline powder that is very soluble in water. When combined with organic substances like sugar, herbicides, sulphur, phosphorus, powdered metals, and strong acids, it easily catches fire or may result in explosive concerns.
Palladium precipitates in sodium chlorate. Palladium ions will undergo oxidation and become palladium oxide or palladium dioxide as a result. This is the first stage in making palladium catalysts or other compounds that contain the metal. Palladium metal can be dissolved using sodium chlorate as an oxidizing agent, enabling further processing or analysis.
