52-55 gallon drums are the largest drum size that sodium silicate is offered in. (Cat. No. : NC-11830).
To order drums, call 1-800-372-6726 during regular business hours. High quality sand and sodium carbonate (soda ash) are melted together in high temperature furnaces to create sodium silicate. The end result is a powdered silicate that dissolves in water and is known as water glass or sodium silicate solution. Chemically, sodium silicate solution is made up of water-soluble sodium oxide and silica in a weight-to-weight ratio. Our sodium silicate has a weight ratio of 3.22 (SiO2:Na2O), which translates into a solution that is roughly 37.5% sodium silicate by weight in water. The breakdown of this ratio is 28.7% silica (SiO2) to 8.9% sodium oxide (Na2O).
